The meeting was ea11ed to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: Mayor Pro-tem Gemmill Councilmen: Flanagan. Jones, Leonard Absent: Mayor Gibbs The Clerk read the notice of special meeting. May 5, 1961 Norma Gibbs Fred Flanagan Dean Gemmill Glenn Jones Al Leonard You and each of you will please take notice that Norma Gibbs as presiding officer of the legislative b6dy~of tHe City of Seal Beach. hereby calls and gives notice of a Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Seal Beach to be held and convened at the hour of 7:15 PM May 8th 1961, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 8th and Central Seal Beach, California, to transact the following business: Matters pertaining to annexation Dated and signed at Seal Beach, California, this 5th day of May, 1961. sf Norma Brandel Gibbs Mayor of the City of Seal Beach Attest: S/F. Resolution No. 1114 (P~oposed Annexation No. 7 Re~ised) was presented in full by the City Attorney. It was moved by Jones and seconded by Leonard.that Resolution No. 1114 be adopted and recorded adQpted at 7:49 P.M. '1 AYES: ABSENT: Flanagan, Jones, Leonard. Gemmill Gibbs Motion carried. Mayor Pro-tem declared a recess at 7:51 P.M. Mayor Gibbs and City Manager Brashear arrived at 8:32 P.M. The meeting reconvened at 8:33 P.M. Mayor Gibbs and the City Manager reported that the City of Westminster had voted to abandon their annexation as it concerns our annexation No.7. Mayor Gibbs proposed that 'investigation be made as to the possible annexation of some of the Surfside. Sunset Beach area. Considerable discussion followed with no definite action taken. It was moved by Jones and seconded by Leonard that the property of the General Telephone Company, at the request of the company, be excluded from the ordinance of annexation to be passed in pe1ation to Resolutions No. 1111 and Np.. 1114.
