'Ordinance No. 581 (Rezoning Tract 4242 - Leisure World) was presented by title by the City Attorney. It was moved by Gemmill and seconded by Leonard to waive the second reading of Ordinance No. 581, that it be deemed as having had its second reading and be passed for adoption. After discussion the matter was referred to the City Manager for further action in a more favorable location. Mr. Brashear announced that an on-sale beer license had been denied 909 Ocean Avenue. He further reported a proposed cooperative program with the City of Long Beach and the Marine Police Patrol. Referred I back for more information. Mr. Leonard reported unsanitary condition of rest rooms on the outer end of the pier. Referred to the City Manager. He also reported that the time clock for the pier lights was not properly working. Referred to the City Manager. Mr. Leonard announced that Friday night August 4th was designated as "Seal Beach Night" at the Dodger-Chicago Cubs base- ball game, and that seats and round trip tic~ets were now available at $5.25 each. Mr. Leonard further reported that additional trash contain- ers were needed for the pier. Mr. Brashear stated that the matter was being taken care of. Mr. Gemmill inquired about the effects of the recent pier Dist Pier . Pier and beach closing hours. After some discussion it was moved by Bch Leonard and seconded by Gemmill to instruct the City Attonney to 418 Mosq. .bate City Atty. Annex. Mayor 'Gibbs "inquired about mosquito abatement. It was reported that the Mosquito Abatement truck had recently been work- ing in the City. Mayor Gibbs read a letter from 'the City Attorney sub- mitting his resignation. Action on'the resignation was deferred. Mr. Leonard suggested that an investigation be made into more strict regulation of beer and liquor licenses. It was moved by Leonard and seconded by Gemmill to adjourn. I AYES: ABSENT: Flanagan.
