The City Counoil of the City of Seal Beach met in
regular session at 7:30 p.m. with Mayor Clark presiding. The
meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegianoe.

The Minutes of the regular meeting of Feb. 1, 1955 were
read and approved on the Mayor's motion.
The Minutes of the regular meeting of Feb. 15, 195,
and the regular adjourned meeting of Feb. 24, 1955 were read
and approved on the Mayor's Motion.
Letter of appreciation for the alley paving projeot
from Ollie B.' Padrick, 111 B 8th Street was received~d filed.
Reports of the Police, Bu~lding, ~ater and Tax Depart-
men~~ for the month of February, 1955 were presented. It was

from the City of~ons Beach, Jess Gilkerson, City Engineer, said
agreement for the installation of twelve inch water pipeline in
place of a six inch pipeline. The City of Seal Beach to pay
inch line.' It was Moved by Leonard and seconded by Calvo to
the difference of labor and material between six inch and twelve

Tse Clerk announced that the Fire Insuranoe on the
Sewage Disposal Plant would expire April 4, 1955 and requested
sealed bids be asked from local agents. ~equest gr~nted.

Item No. 26 - Subdivision #1817 - Final Map.
After considerable discussion it was Moved by Calvo
and seconded by Leonard that the City Council approve the final
maps of Tract # 1817, 2590 and 2591 for recordatiop and accept
the dedications offered iMsaid tracts subject to the City
Engineer's approval in conneotion with the matheMatioal check,
the filing of the. improveMent bond and the filing of the monu-
ment bond. The City Engineer's approval is conditioned upon
the subdivider agreeing to sell to the City at a negotiated prioe
a lot to be selected by the City for use as a firestation site,
to construct a 5' Masonry wall along the rear pf the residential
lots baoking ~acific Coast Highway, and to construct a 51 fence
along the rear of the residential lots backing Bay Blvd., prior II
to the sale, of lots in said tracts or the occupancy of homes
therein, whichever shall occur first. Also, the future street .....x
shown on said map of Tract M 2590 and here!n offered was herepy

nr. Toups reported that he had Met with ~r. Bush of
the State DepartMent of Recreation and that arrangements had
been Made for hiM to meet with the local Recreation COMMittee,
Monday, March 14, 1955 and twice a month thereafter to assist
in formulating the necessary ordinance, prograM, budget etc.,
to establish an effective Reoreation Co~~isslon..
Letter frOM Jack Croce, Youth Director, relative to
Ice Cream SOCial, March 5, 1955 to raise funds to purchase a
bus for transportation purposes. The Council agreed to support
the Ice Cream Social but to refer the matter of a bus to the

Recreation Committee.

~etter and report from W. S. Knighton, Deputy Build-
ing Inspector, relative to the condition of the Youth Center
Building was referred 'to the Recreation Committee.
Mr. Toups reported that sand for the east beach
might possibly be forthcoming from the City of Long Beach
w~thin a week or ten days.
Mr. Toups also reported that the perimeter road
would probably be opened within about thirty days. Mayor
Clark stated that he had recently driven over the road and that
it was highly satisfactory.
It was Moved by Leonard and seconded by Calvo to ad-
journ until 8'00 p.m. March 7, 1955 to canvass the vote of the
March 4, 1955 election.
