I Seal Beach, California May 24, 1955. The City Council of the City of Seal Beach Met in regular adjourned session at 7:30 p.m~ with Mayor Pro-tem Calvo presiding. The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of All~giance. The invocation was given by Rev. Ruckman. Letter of application to sell fireworks by the Seal Drug Co., and Brock's Drug Center, were received and filed. Offer of the Seal Beach Sport Fishing Fleet, by A. C. Lescher and C. M. Stockon to return tQ the flat fee of $5000.00 per year was referred to the pier committee of Lawhaa~ and Calvo. I Mayor Pro-tem Calvo stated that this was the time as announced, for a publlcghearing on Ordinance No. 472 (Busi- ness License Code). After some discussion by the City Attorney, Councilmen and members of the aUdience, it was moved by Leonard and seconded by Flanagan that Ordinance No. 472 be deeMed as having had its second reading and be passed for adoption. Ordinance No. 473 (Water Rates) was read by title by the City Attorney., ,It was moved by Flanagan and seconded by Lawhead that Ordinance No. 473 be deeme~ as having had its second reading and be passed for a~option. City Engineer's Ap:enda Subdivision: Mr. Marron re~read a letter from the Seal Beach School Board and the subdivider relative to street I. dedication.. .It was moved by Lawhead and seconded by Leonard to accept the offer of the School Board subject to recordation of the trac t. Fire Insurance: Upon recomMendation of Mr. Marron , ,j lG5 it was moved by Leonard and seconded by Lawhead, that the City Engineer and City Clerk be instructed to purchase Fire Insurance for all City owned property for a five year period ~rom Frank Shufelt, Agent, representing the Providence Wash- ington Insurance Co., and that the premium be split among the local agents as previously agreed. 1 AYES r NOES; ABSENT: Leonard, Lawhead, Flanagan, Calvo None Clark Motion carried. Beach Fill Mr. Marron reported that the project had started Friday, May 20th.and that it was progressing as planned. Upon recommendation of the City Engineer, it was moved by Leonard and seconded by Flanagan to instruct the City Engineer to proceed with the repairing of the DC tractor as agreed. Bch. ID:2! This Matter was referred to the Chief of Police. Over head cast. Pier Mrs. Mendoza also suggested that plugs for lights for night fishing on the pier be installed. This Matter Pier Nite Fishl was referred to the pier committee. It was moved by Flanagan.and seconded by Lawhead to ad.1 ourn .
