Subdivision Mr. Marron reported that he had been
in contact with the designers of the water system and that
plans were highly adequate for the property.
Monterey Oil Co. Mr. Marron reported that the com-
pletion of the pipeline project had been-delayed because of
unforeseen difficulties in submerging the line on the ocean
floor, and that the separation center portion of the program
was pro~ressing slowly.
Water Rates. Mr. Marron explained in detail the

necessity of the change to set-up a program of replaceMent
of needed water lines, and of future development.
It was moved by Calvo and seconded by Leonard to
adjourn.

The City Council of the City of Seal Beach Met
in rep,ular session at 7:30 p.m. with M!\V or Clark presiding.
The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Mayor announced that this was the time and plaoe
as advertised to accept sealed bids for a pipe line franchise.
Hancock Oil Company, Long Beaoh, offered $100.00 for the
franchise. There being no other bids the City Attorney pres-
ented Ordinance No. 474 (Pipeline Franchise, Hancock Oil Co.)
It was Moved by Calvo and seconded by Lawhead that Ordinance
No. 474 be deemed as having had its first reading and be
passed to the second reading.

were read.' It was moved by Lawhead and seconded by Calvo

zoning matters was received and filed. ihe Clerk was instruct-
ed to s end a letter of thanks.
In the matter of signs for the car to be entered in
the 4th of July Parade at Huntington Beach, Chief Howard stated
that there were two very fine signs on hand which could be
used.
Announcement of the regular monthly meeting of the
Orange County League of Cities, Anaheim, June 23rd with a
preview of Disneyland was received and filed.

Letter from Mrs. M. A. Abata, 1501 Seal Way request-
ing closing of Dolphin Avenue north of Seal Way to alley.
The ~ity Engineer and Chief of Police were instructed to Make
a study and report.
Report of the City Clerk for the month of May, 1955
was presented. It was moved by Calvo and seconded by Lawhead
to receive and file the City Officers report.

Mrs. Edith DeSadeleer addressed the Council and
read a. letter of request. from the Recreation Committee, asking
that Robert Gochicoa, Edith Bell Strother, Norman Little, Edith
De Sadeleer and Dr. Val Sneed be officially appointed to the
Seal Beach Recreation and Park Commission. A proposed tentattve
budget for the new co~mission were also presented with the letter.
It was moved by ~alvo and seconded by Lawhead to approve the II
recommendation relative xo the members of the commission.

Service) was presented by the City Attorney. It was moved by

The Clerk stated that tha Long Beach Motor Bus Co.
had made application dated June 6, 1955 to the Public Utilities

Commission for certain changes- in time s.chedules and for per-
mission to run over Central Avenue frOM Bolsa and First Streets
to Main Street, instead of Ocean Avenue. It was Moved by Calvo
and seconded by Lawhead to approve the proposed changes and to
so reCOMMend to the Commission whenever the date is set for
hearing.

culty had come up over certain responsibilities during Roy
Thomas' illness and wanted the approval of the Counci~ in
having Mr. Marron take over for the present. It was moved
by Calvo and seconded by Lawhead to grant this request.
