The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in
regular session at 7:30 p.m. with Mayor Clark presiding. The
meeting was called to order with the.Pledge of Allegiance.

Mayor Clark announced that the first order of business
would be to open sealed btds for the Seventh street Improvement

Project as advertised. Bids were opened from Ansco Construction
Company and Sully-Miller Company. It was moved by Lawhead and

seconded by Flanagan to refer the bids to the City Engineer for
analysis and recommendation at an adjourned meeting to be held
July 21, 1955 at 7:30 p.m.

missIon, for the full use of the Pier Sun Roam and west parking
lot on Saturday, August 6, 1955 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
for their Annual Fish Fry. PerMission was also ~equeseed for the
distribution of handbills and erecting street banners to adver-
tise the event. It was moved by Flanagan and seconded by Lawhead
to grant the request.

and seconded by Flana.gan to receive and file the City Officers
reports.

at $400.00 per ye~r. It was moved by Leonard and seconded by
Flanagan that the Mayor and City Clerk execute the new agree-
ment on behalf of the City.

City-County Highway COMMittee. Mr. Marron read a
letter from A. S. Koch, County Surveyor and Road COMMissioner
requesting the City Council officially regognize tbis Ctty-
County Cooperative Highway Committee and its policy, a copy of
which is on file with the City Clerk. It was Moved by Leonard
and seconded by Lawhead to officially recognize this committee
and policy and to appoint the City Engineer to represent the
City of Seal Beach on this Committee.

chase property from Hellman interests at price quoted. It was

Mayor Clark stated that he had talked with Mr. Boyer
of the L~kewood Park Corporation and that they were reorganizing
the oorporation for the purposes of the subdivision and that as
soon as the legal matters were settled they would proceed.
The City Engineer read an announcement of the next
regular meeting of the Associated Chamber of Commerce of Orange

To conform with the recently amended Civil Service
ordinance, the Mayor presented the names of R. W. Reeves, Cli~ford
Hannah, Willard Hanzlik, R. B. Grotemat and John Nescher to serve
Civil
on the Civil Service Commission. It was moved by Flanagan and
seconded by Leonard to confirm the above named to the Civil
Service Commission.
