The Pity Council of the City of Seal Beach me~ in
regular session at 7:30 p.m. with Mayor Clark presiding. The
meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegi~nce.
The invocation was given by Rev..Clyd~ Ruckman.

The minutes of the regular meeting of Sept. 20, 1955
were read and approved on the Mayor's motion.
Notice of hearing before the Public Utilities Commiss-
ion of Long Beach Motor Bus Company, requesting authority to
increase certain of its rates of fare, Nov. 2, 1955 at Long Beach
Town:Hall, was receivedand filed.

Letter from the Recreation Commission, with minutes of
their July, August and September meetings and record of the sum-
mer activity and requesting certain recommendations, was received Recre
and filed. It was moved by Leonard and seconded by Calvo that Comm
the salary of the Recreation Director' be $325.00 per month during

school vacation and $200.00 per month during school time, and
that assistants be paid at the rate of $1.50 per ho~, 15 hours
per week, maximum.

the City Officers reports.

$11,394.3] as approved by the Finance Committee were presented.
It was moved by Leonard and seconded by Flanagan that the demands
be allowed and warrants drawn on the Treasury for the same.

Resolution No. 904 (Annexation-Orange County Boundary
Commission) was presented by the City Attorney. Lynn Hossom,
Attorney, Hancock Oil Company again-protested in behalf of his
company. It was moved by Leonard and seconded by Calvo to adopt
Resoiution No. 904."

Mr. Leonard asked if the Special Water Department Fund
had been set up by the Auditor to date. It was requested that the
Auditor attend the next meeting.

Retirement Plan
Mr. Marron stated that the Council had met with Mr.
Van Cleve, Sept. 26th. It was moved by Calvo and seconded by
Leonard that the recommended plan be approved and that the City
Attorney be instructed to prepare necessary documents to place
this matter on the April election ballot.

It was moved by Calvo and seconded by Flanagan that
the City Engineer attend the Conference in Sacramento, with an
expense allowance of not to exceed $100.00.

Parking Lots. Mr. Marron stated that there would be
some surplus material on the 7th St. job and that it would be
put at the foot of Neptune Ave. as a base for a future parking
lot. He also stated that a permit of easement had been requested

Mr. Marron stated that he would like to sell and or dis-

Mr. Lawhead inquired into the present status of the Sub-

division. Mr. Marron told of his talks with the owners and that

they were progressing with plans.
In the matter of the Fifth Street Extension, ~. Marron

said he had received word from the Hellman office requesting that
we have the Orange Coun ty Title Co. prepare a deed to the property
to be purchased.
The condition of the Police cars was discussed without
'definite action being taken.
Distribution of insurance commissions was discussed at
length without definite action taken.
It was moved by Calvo and seconded by Flanagan to adjourn
until Tuesday, October 11, 1955 at 7:30 p.m.

Letter from the Seal Beach Woman's Club requesting a
donation of the furniture from the City Hall apartment, the sale
of which would. be used for the yearly Cancer and Polio Drives.
It was moved by Leonard and seconded by Lawhead that all furniture
that cannot be used by the City, be donated to the Woman's Club.
