HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Min 1956-06-06 278 Seal Beach, California June 6, 1956 The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in regular session at 7:30 ~.m. with Mayor Calvo presiding. The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. Present I Mayor Calvo Councilmen: Tancre, Ross, Flanagan, Spencer Absent: . !' II None 1 The minutes of the regular meeting of May 15, 1956 were read and approved on the Mayor's motion. Demands numbering 3793 to 3896 inclusive, totaling .14,77~.0) ms approved by the Finance Committee were presented. It was move~by Spencer and seconded by Tancre that the demands be allowed and warrants drawn on the Treasury for the same. AYES: NOES : Tancre, Ross, Flanagan, Spencer, Calvo None . Motion cs,rried. Reports of the Building, Police, License, Water and Tax Departments for the month of May" 1956 were presented. It was moved by Tancra and seconded by Ross to receive and file the City Officers reports. Motion carried. It was ,Ord. moved by Flanagan and seconded by Spencer to waive the second reading of Ordinance No. 492. AYES : NOES: Tancre, Ross. Flanagan, Spencer, Calvo None Motion carried. Ordinance No. 492 (Amending Sec. 3.301 of Ord. No. 472. Ord. Apartment License). Request of $lUO.OO assistance in correcting Edison Company rates by the Commercial Utility Service was received and filed. Recommendations of the Planning Commission to rezone property for J. H. Woodruff in a C-l zone for an Auto Parts and Supply store, was referred back to the Commission for a pUblic hearing. 1 It was moved by Flanagan and seconded by Spencer to rezone lot a 59 ~nd 01 in Block 212, Tract No. 10 to R3 upon the recommendation of the Planning Commission, public hearing having been held. Rnnounoement of Notice of Intention to Circulate a I Petition seeking the incorporation of a new city, to be known as Los Alamitos, was receivedand filed. Mr. Ross stated that Long Beach was setting up a Citizens; Committee to advise the Long Beach City Manager relative to Marina problema and suggested we attempt to get one member on the committee and recommended the name of D. M. Callis. The Clerk was instructed to request this consideration of the City of Long Beach. It was moved by Flanagan and seconded by Tancre to adjourn.
