The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in
regular session at 7:)0 P.M..with Mayor Calvo presiding. The
meeting was called to order with the-Pledge of Allegiance.

Mayor Calvo appointed Tancre to serve on the Finance
Committee.
The minutes of the regular meeting of August 7. 1956
were read and approved on the Mayor's motion.
Reports of the City Clerk and City ~reasurer for the
month of JUly. 1956 were presented. It was moved by Spencer
and seconded by Tancre to receive and file the City Officers
reports.

Bolsa Chica Corp. be read at this time.

quest of the CorporatiGn to annex some two hundred forty (240)
acres as described, to the City of Seal Beach as an industrial
subdivision, and was signed by W. H. Beck. President. The City
Attorney explained the position of the City in the recent annex-
ation litigation. After considerable discussion in which Mr.
Beck participated. it was moved by Tancre and seconded by Spencer
to receive and file the letter from Westminister-Bolsa Chica

Corp., for the Council to further discuss at an adjourned meet-
ing.:

The Clerk announced that the supplimental petitions
relative to the recall of Calvo and Flanagan had not been re-
turned or filed on the proper date.
The Clerk also announced that the cash bonus in the
oil drilling Matter received from signal Oil and Fairfield had
been deposited in a special savings account.
Mr. Bucklstated that he had not as yet filed a
declairatory releif" action in the oil drilling matter for
various reasons. It was Moved by Ross and seconded by Spencer
that the City Attorney be ins"truoted to proceed at hfs own
discretion.:

relative to the Long Beach Marina Advisory Committee. The Clerk

receipt of funds and expenditures. It was Moved by Tancre and
