Seal Beach, Callfornia April 3, 1950 The City Councll of the Oity of Seal Beach met in regular session at 8:00 P.M. wlth Mayor Shufelt presidlng. Meetlng was called to order wlth salute to the Flag. Present: Mayor Shufelt eouncilmen, Bowers, Brostrom, Leonard, Jacobsen Councllmen, None Absent: The mlnutes of regular meetlng of March 20th was read and after additlon of dlscussion on location change of polling places were approved on Mayor's motlon. The first order of business was the opening of bids for drl11ing of new water wells. Blds were opened as follows: M.R. Peck and Walter O. Hill. Rosco Mass Company declined to bid on account of not having,at this time, sufficlent equipment aval1able. It was moved by Jacobsen. second by Leonard that bld of Walter O. Hill, for drilling of first well, $S,~21.72, second well. $7,221.72 be accepted. Ord. 387 Flrst Reading - Ord. 387 Letter of Veterane of Foreign Wars proposlng lease for coming season on night parklng for the beach parking lot. Tabled until next meetlng. Letter of Planning Commlesion recommending that request of Community Methodlst Church for zone variance on property located at Tenth Street and Central Avenue be approved. It was moved by Jacobsen, second by Bowers that Ordinance No.3g7 be deemed as ,having had its flrst reading. It was moved by Jacobsen, second by Bowers to send Ordi- nance 387 to its second and final reading and adoptlon. It was moved by Leonard, second by Brostrom that the Clerk ask Carden's Coln Telescope to send in hls proposed contract ' Telescope _ Coin with the City for review by the City Attorney. Motlon carrled. March Reports Demands Report for the month of March of Pollce Chlef, Bulldlng, Water and T~x Departments were read. It was moved by Jacobsen, second by Brostrom that reports be received and fl1ed. Motion carried. Demands numberlng 1429 to 1513 incluslve, amounting to $10,713.13 as approved by the Finance Commlttee were presented. It Was moved by Brostrom, second by Jacobsen that bills be allowed and warrants drawn on the Treasury for same. McKinney, '., Clliford Schmickrath and terms and procedure of the Navy Ordinance Department concerning acquisition of lease on the Anaheim Bay property of the Navy Ammunition and Net Depot. Petltlon signed by thirty City Employees asking that a Commlssion be set up to put lnto operation Oivil Service Ordl~ nance 307.
