Meetlng was called to order wlth salute to the Flag. Preeent: Mayor Shufelt Councllmen Leonard, Granger, Bowers Councilman Webster The mlnutes of the regular meeting of December 4th were read,and approved on Mayor's motlon. Absent: COMWNICATIONS: Letter of Pastor of St. Ann's Church thanklng Councll for cancellation of 1950-51 taxes on parsonage property. Re- cf!lved and filed. , Letter of Harold C. Frerks, Attorney, maklng protest for Nlcholas D. Dovalls on condltion of alley back of the 101 Ranch Cafe where suppliers make deliveries of supplies. Letter received and filed and referred to City Attorney to make reply. Letter of Orange County Mosquito Abatement District asklng Council to appoint a Seal Beach representative to the Board for the year 1951. Held over until next meeting. Reports for the month of November of City Treasury and City Clerk were presented. Social Security Act Petition Police Chief Bond Beach Erosion - BOll'ers Demands numbering 948 to 1009 inclusive amounting to $6,7!S3.1!S as approved by the Finance Committee were pres,ented. It was moved by Bowers second by Granger that bills be allowed and warrants drawn on the Treasury for same. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Leonard, Granger, Bowers, Shufelt None Webster Motion carried I, Resolution No. 72) was presented, Authorizing Currie Engineering Company to Make Application to the State Department of Finance for-'Chapter 20 Funds. It was mov'ed by Bowers second by Granger that Resolution No. 723 be adopted. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Leonard, Granger, Bowers, Shufelt None Webster Motion ca.rried Resolution No. 724 was presented( Authorizing Currie Engineering Company to Make Application to the State Department of Finance for Cha~ter 47 Funds. It was moved by Bowers second by Granger that Resolution No. 724 be adopted. Held over awaiting information on necessary procedure. It was moved by Bowers second.by Leonard that the Police Chief be directed to secure at City expense, indemnity insurance to the amount of ten-thousand ($10,000) dollars pro- viding protection for false arrest. . AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Leonard, Granger, Bowers, Shufelt None Webster Motion carried Councilman Bowers called attention to the rapid erosion of beach sands all along the beach east of the Munic- I ipal pier, of several hundred feet during the past three years and suggested the building of a breakwater west from the Navy jetty or similar practical methods be employed to protect our beach. It was moved by Leonard second by Gra.nger that Mayor Shufelt contact the Sho?eline Association and discuss the matter with them in connection with arriving at a solution to the matter. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Shufelt with salute to t~e Flag. Present: Mayor Shufelt Oouncilmen Bowers, Granger, Leonard, Webster Absent: None The first order of business was the review of the supple- mental Leass Agreement for the Municipal Pier, prepared by Attorney Buck. After a few typographical corrections, it was moved by Webs~er, sepo~ded by Leonard that the Mayor and Olerk be directed and authorized I Pier to sign said Lease on behalf of the City. Clerk to write Lescher and Lease , Stockon as to said Lease acceptance on the part of the' City.
