The City Counoil of the Oity of Seal Beaoh met in regular ad-
journed session at 7:)0 P. M. with Mayor Shufelt presiding. Meeting
was called to order with salute to the Flag.

The prinoipal purpose of the meeting was for the purpose of con-
sidering the Planning Oommission's recommendation on the applioation
of the Department of Water and Power, City of Los Angeles, for the
Water re-zoning certain parcels of property to permit the oonstruction of
& a new steam power electrio generating plant. The first order of
Power business was the reading of a letter from Helen J. Moore, 202, 2nd

asked those in the audianoe who were in favor of granting the appli-
cation to stand up, there were three ()) yes. Those not in favor of
granting the application to stand up, there were forty eight (4g) No.
Letter of the Planning Commission recommending to the Council after
the holding of two (2) public hearings. Said recommendation being
that the application of the Department of Water and Power, City of
Los Angeles be denied. It was moved by Leonard, second by Granger
that the recommendation of the Planning Commission be acoepted and
approved. That the 6ity Attorney be directed to prepare an amendment
to the zoning ordinanoe plaoing all property between Old Coast High-
way and the Pacific Electric R&ilway,(excepting a two hundred (200)
foot strip already occupied by heavy industry) in the business zone.

Letter of the Seal Beach Woman's Club asking the Council to
make a financial contribution to the March of Dimes campaign and
Woman's announcing a benefit luncheon for the purpose of raising funds for

asing Agent be authorized to issue purchase order to Rensselear
Valve Company for two (2) Vacum & Air Release Valves each 2"
purchase price 10).41 including sales tax.
