The City Council of the City of Seal Beach me~ in regular
session at 7:30 P. M. with Mayor Shufelt presiding'at the meet-
ing. Meeting was call ed to order ~ith salute to the Flag.

I Absent: Councilman, Granger, Bowers
The minutes of regular meet~ng of Jrmuary 15th, and ad-
journed regular meeting of January 22nd were read and approved
on Mayor1s motion.
Oard announcing award of Merit for Christmas lighting by
the Orange County Coast Association received and filed.
Report of the Police Chief, City Judge, Building, Water,
'and Tax Departments for the month of January were read. It
was moved by Leonard, second by Webster that report be received
and filed.
Motion carried.

Engineer Wooley reported on ways to make additional water
supply available to the Trailer Park. It was moved by Leonard
second by Webster that the Purchasing Age~t purchase the neces-
sary 4" Transite pipe /fd t~i9Uflttigpmprovement.

It was moved by Leonard, second by Webster that the Clerk
for the City Clerks department be paid a starting salary of
$175.00 per month to be increased $5.00 each month until a
maximum salary of $200.00 per month was reached.
It was moved by Leonard, second by Webster that a pre-
scribed form of application be used wnen new applicants
apply for future employment.

The matter of garbage collection and disposal was held
over for further study.

A petition was presented, carrying the names o~ almost

Bridge all Seal Beach business men, protesting the removal of the
Ocean Avenue Bridge. It was moved by Leonard and concurred
by all members present that the Council employ all available

measures to protest said bridge's removal, and the Oity
Attorney directed to prepare a letter to be signed ,by the

Mayor and forwarded to the U. S. Army Engineers, protesting
. the removal of said bridge.
