Ohamber on Marina Drain at , 8th Street Seal Beach, California April 16, 1951 The Oity Council of the City of Seal Beach met in re- gular session at 8:00 P. M. with Mayor Shufelt presiding. Meeting was called to order With salute to the Flag. Present: Mayor Shufel t Oounoilmen, Webster, Leonard, Bowen, Bowers None I Absent: The minutes of regular meeting of April 2nd and re- gular adjourned meeting of April 4th were read and approved on Mayor's motion. OOMMUNIOATIONS: Letter of the Chamber of Oommerce suggesting that the Mayor iseue a proclamation deiaring the dates May 1 to 8 inclusive It olean-up week". It was moved by Bowers, seoond by Leonard to approve of this suggestion. Motion carried. Letter of Chester C. Eagle complaining o~ damage caused by palm trees in front of his property at 24'-48 6th Street. Main- tenance foreman to make a oheok of conditions complained of and repor:t findings to the Oouncil. I Letter of S. D. Trapp stating that the palm trees ad- joining ~is property at a45 Main Str~et were in need of pruning to give the corner a more attractive appearance. Maintenance Foreman direoted to give this matter his attention. Letter of the Long Beaoh Chamber of Commerce ijhoreline Committee asking that this Oity cooperate in working o~t a har- moniQus program on the development of the Marina. It was moved by Webster, seoond by Leonard that the City Attorney prepare a I'''.'''S'''''. Woolley, Engineer, reporting outoome of study made'by the Highway Engineer on drain problem at junction of Bolsa Avenue - 8th Street and Highway 101. Aleo letter making recommendation and giving an approximate cost of remedying the oondition. Received and filed. Reports of the City Treasurer and Clerk for the month of' March were read. It was moved by Bowers, second by !;oecmard that reports be received and filed. Motion carried. Demands numbering 154J to 1610 inclusive, amounting to f19.srO.'5 as approved by the Finance Oommittee, were pre8ent~. second by Webster It was moved by Bowers/thatall bills excepting Demand No. 1587 in the amount of $272.60 be allowed and warrants drawn on the Treasury for same. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Webster, Leonard, Bowen, Bowers, Shufelt None None Motion carried. Oity maps prepared by Norman L. Roy were inspeoted by the Council. It was moved by Leonard, second by Bowers that' same be aocepted and warrant in the amount of $300.00 payable to,Mr. ROY be approved. Motion carried. It was moved by Webster, second by Bowers tha~ Ordinance No. 405 be deemed as having had its second and final reading in full and be adopted. It was moved by Webster, second by Bowen that Maintenance Foreman be directed to arrange for laying water line pipe exten- sion to the Trailer Park at a price not in excess of 70_ per foot for opening trenoh, laying pipe and refilling the excavation; and Oity Attorney directed to prepare said agreement.
