California May 7, 19~1 The Oity Counoil of the Oity of Seal Beach met in regular session~t 8:00 o. M. and was oalled to order by Mayor Shufelt with salute to the Flag. Present: Mayor Shufelt Councilmen, Bowers, Bowen, Leonard, Webster None 1 Absent; The minutes of regular meeting of April 16th and regular adjourned meeting of April 23rd were read and after minor oorreotion on the Karina jettys and addition of Committee's report to the Counoil on Airport Club, minutes were approved o~ ~ayors motion. The first order of business ~as the approval and acceptance ". of plans and specifications for the Sewage Disposal Plant as pre- pared and presented by the Burrie Engineering Oompany. . Resolution No. 735 was presented and read, approving said plans and specifications. It was moved by Leonard, second by Webster that Resolution No. 7J5 be adopted. Resolution No. ,736 was presented and re~d in full approving the Per Diem Wage Scale for the construction of said above mentioned Sewage Plant. It was mov.~by Leonard, second by Bowers that Resolution No. 736 be adopted. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Bowers, Bowen, Leonard, Webster, Shufelt None None Motion carried Resolution No. 7)7 was presented and read in full, authorizing Advertising for Bids on said Sewage Plant construction. Minkler, 1517 Seal Way asking for Minkler permit to construct special fence in front of his property. Re- Fence ferred to Building committee to investigate and report. 137 Letter of Duane D. Eastburn asking Council for permit East- burn to supply,and sell firewood to the fire ring patrons. It was Fire- Wood moved by Leonard, second by Bowen that permit be granted without I business license. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Bowers, Bowen, Leonard, Webster, Shufelt None None Motion carried. Letter of O. T. Parker asking for permit and license Parker for an outdoor free movie show for the children. Held over until oui- ~oor next regular meeting for study and report. It was moved by Leonard, second by Bowers that Ocean copies of letter be placed on file with the Building Dep,t. and Ave. identification of such restriction be endorsed on Oity Map. Orange Co. Crill, President Orange Oounty Water District regarding use of underground water supply. Received and filed. Letter of Gordon G. Dunn, Mayor Fresno, asking support , against proposed new tax on the grape industry. Received and filed. Report for the month of April of Police.Ohief, Oity Judge, BUilding, Water and Tax Depts. were read. It was moved by Bowers second by Leonard that reports be received and filed. Motion carried. Demands numbering 1611 to 1704, inclusive amounting to $8,575.06 as approved by the Finance Oommittee were presented. It wa~ moved by Bowers, second by Webster that bills be allowed and warrants drawn on'the Treasury for same. Clerk Supoly directed to furnish City Attorney copies of various agreements Oontract\nd minute orders given by the Council for additional equipment,etc. It was moved by Webster, second by Bowers to direct the Max- well Reso. No. 7)g Ord. Wo. 11-02 Gas Tax Stop Signs . ' Mayor and Olerk to sign supplimental agreement prepared by,City , Attorney with L. H. JIlaxwell. I Motion carried. Resolution No. 7)8 was presented accepting deed to Counties interest in Tax Deeded Lots. It was moved by Webster, second by Bowers that Resolution No. 7)8 be adopted. A YES : NOES: ABSENT: Bowers, Bowen, Leonard, Webster, Shufelt None None Motion carried. Ordinance BO. 402 was presented and read, regulating encrouchments on Alley easement South of Ocean Avenue. It was moved by Webster, second by Bowers that Ordin~nce No. 402 be deemed as having had its second and final reading and same be adopted. It was moved by Leonard, second by Bowen that the sum of $4000.00 be budgeted from the Gas ,Tax Fund for maintenance of City Streets of major importance. It was moved by Leonard, second by Bowen that the Police Ohief be directed to have ins~led stop signs at Southwest corner of Second; Southwest and Northeast corners of Fifth St.; and Southeast and Northwest corners of Main Street - all on Central I Avenue.
