Meeting was called to orger wit~ salute to the Flag. Present: Mayor Shufelt Councilmen, Bowers, Bowen, Leonard, Webster Ord. Absent: Councilmen, None The minutes of regular meeting or Oc~ober ~s~ ~ere read and approved on Mayor's motion. Ordinance No. 414, prohibiting dancing in places where alcoholic beverages are dispensed. Ordinance was read in full No. 414 by City Attorney. It was moved by Bowen, second by Bo~ers that Ordinance No. 414 be deemed as having had its 1st reading and sent to its second reading and adoption. Demands numbering 559 to 635 inclusive, amounting to, $12,l12.68 as approved by the Finance Committee were presented. COMMUNICATIONS: Letter of Florence Gleason asking for removal of a palm tree at III Third Street that was damaging sidewalk and curb. It was moved by Bowen, second by Bowers to refer to Maintenance Foreman"and if conditions complained of were causing I damage to remove tree. Motion carried. Letter of Veter~s of Foreign Wars asking permission to place metal sign on Highway announcing that Seal Beach has a V.F.W. Post. It was moved by Bowers, second by Bowen that request be granted. Letter of Disabled American Veterans, Santa Ana, aSking permit to sell Forget-MeJNots on Seal Beach Streets on November 7th. It was moved by Webster, second by Bowers that if consent of United Veterans Council was secured that permit be granted. McGaugh suggesting the placing of Stop Signs and pavement markings at'the Trailer Park to control traffic, as the school bus stops there for loading and unloadi~g of pupils. City Attorney read a letter from the Long Beach Engineers Office an estimated cost of repairs on Bolsa Avenue and Second Street Bridge. Paul Calvo, Buildin~ Inspector made a recorru~endation regardine resident parking spaces and garage set-back lines. It was moved by Bowen, second by Webster that the City Attorn~y be directed to prepare and Ordinance amendment providing for a minimQm space for two automobiles on any multiple zone lot and a 4 foot set-back from property line f@r garages.
