M. and was called to order by Mayor Pro-Tem ueonard with salute to the Flag. Present: Mayor Pro-Tem ~eonard Councilmen, ~ebster, Bowen Mayor Shufelt Councilman, Bowers' The minutes of regular meetinr, of November 5 were read and approved on Mayor Pro-Tem's motion. Absent I Letter of Orange County League of Cities announcing monthly League dinner meeting at Huntington Beach City Auditorium Monday, November 29 at 7:00 P. M. Received and filed. Report for the month of October of City Treasurer and City Clerk were presented. It was moved by Webster, second by Bowen-that re~orts be received and filed. Motion carried. Demands numbering 741 to 791 inclusive amounting to $5,228.17 as approved by the Finance Committee were presented. It was moved by Webster, second by Bowen that bills be allowed and warrants drawn on the Treasury for same. AYES: Leonard, Webster, Bowen NOES: None ABSENT : Shufelt, Bowers Motion carried. Ordinance No. 415 was presented for its second and final reading - Garage & Apartment set-back lines. It was moved by Bowen, second by Webster to waive the readinB of Ordinance No. 415. Motion carried. It was moved by Bowen, second by Webster that Ordinance No. 415 be deemed as having had its second and finai reading and be adopted. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Leonard, Webster, Bowen None Shufelt, Bowers 'Motion carried. Ordinance No. 416 was presented and read. prohibiting possession and ale of Air rifles and their ammunition. AYES: NOES:' ABSENT: Leonard, Webster, Bowen None Shufelt, Bowers Motion carried. ,- Harry Ross of Ross Motel and Apartments presented (, , request for permit to erect a Neon sign, leased from the Electrical Products Corp., advertising his motel. A pencil sketch of the project was presented along with the request. It was moved by Webster, second by Bowen that permit be issued by the Building Department contingent upon Mr. Ross' depositing with the Clerk's office an indemnity bond in the sum of 50/100 Thousand dollars, protecting the City against any damage clai~. It was moved by Bowen, second by Webster to approve the purchase of ,1/2 Ton Chevrolet t~uck from the Hoover Chevrolet Company, Llng Beach. Purchase Price $1400.00 Ret - payment to be .made in two insta11ments of $700.00 each. AYES: Leonard, Webster, Bowen NOES: None ABSENT: Shufelt, Bowers . Motion carried. I It was moved by Webster, second by Bowen that the City Attorney be directed to prepare a deferred purchase lease agree- ment between the City and Hoover Chevrolet Co. and the Mayor authorized to sign said agreement and check for first monthly payment of said 1/2 tone truck abov~ mentioned. Meeting was called to order with salute to the Flag. Present: Mayor Shufelt Councilmen, Leonard, bowen Councilmen. Webster, bowers Absent: The minutes of regular meeting of November 19th were read and approved on Mayor's motion. COMMUNICATIONS: Letter of O. L. Bowers resigning as member of the City Council was read by Aayor Shufelt. It was moved ~y L~onard, second by Bowen that resignation be accepted and office declared vacant. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Leonard, Bowen. Shufelt None Webster Motion carried. It was moved by Leonard~ second by Bo~n that D. D. Lawhead be named member of the Cit~ Coun~il to serve out the . unexpired term of the past incumbent. AYES: NOE'.'3: ABSENT: Leonard. Bowen. Shufelt None Webster Motion carried. Mr. Lawhead stepped forward and was administered the oath of office by the Clerk.
