Meeting was called to order with salute to the Flag. Present: Mayor Shufelt Councilmen, Leonard, bowen Councilmen. Webster, bowers Absent: The minutes of regular meeting of November 19th were read and approved on Mayor's motion. COMMUNICATIONS: Letter of O. L. Bowers resigning as member of the City Council was read by Aayor Shufelt. It was moved ~y L~onard, second by Bowen that resignation be accepted and office declared vacant. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Leonard, Bowen. Shufelt None Webster Motion carried. It was moved by Leonard~ second by Bo~n that D. D. Lawhead be named member of the Cit~ Coun~il to serve out the . unexpired term of the past incumbent. AYES: NOE'.'3: ABSENT: Leonard. Bowen. Shufelt None Webster Motion carried. Water Chlorine contract Reso. No. 746 Letter of the American Legion Auxiliary asking Council to appoint a member on the Christmas Basket Committee. Mayor Shufelt appointed Councilman Leonard to represent the City on said committee. Letter of Dr. Bowers, County Health Department asking that a city representative meet with he and Supervisor Fetherly on the County Dog Pound problem. Mayor directed the Clerk to inform Dr. bowers that he would be glad to meet with them any time during the coming week. Letter of the State Department of Finance suggesting that Council rescind Resolution No. 586 - East-side Drainage System. I Letter of t~e Aetropolitan Water District regarding Tax Allocation for payment of C;ity's share of' cost of joining said District referred to City Attorney. It was moved by Bowen, second by Leonard that 1952 Chlorine supply contract be awarded to Luippold Engineering Sales. . . AYES: NOES: . ABSENT: Leonard, Lawhead, Bowen, Shufelt None Webster I Motion carried. Reports for the month of November of Police Chief, City Judge, Tax, Water and Building Departments were read. It was moved by Leonard, second by Bowen that reports be received ,and filed. Motion carried. Demands numbering 792 to 875 inclusive amounting to $26,726.87 as approved Hy the Finance Committee were presented. It was moved by ~eonard, second by Howen that bills be allowed and warrants drawn on the Treasury for same. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Leonard, Lawhead, Bowen, Shufelt None Webster Motion carried. I Resolution No. 746 was presented and read, rescinding Resolution No. 586 - East Side Drainage System funds. It was moved by ~eonard, second by Bowen that Resolution No. 746 be adopted. It was moved by Bowen. second by Lawhead that Ordinance No. 416 be deemed as having had its second and final reading and be adopted. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: . Leonard, Lawhead, Bowen, Shufelt None Webster Motion carried. Mayor appointed Councilman Leonard, and Mr. C. A. Miller to meet with representative of the Department of National Resources, Division of Beach and Parks, State of California. It was moved by Bowen. second by Lawhead to have one air photo map on a scale of 1 to 100 with end portions of beaches scale 1 to 50, and 1 set of 3 oblique air photos 8 x 10 gloss print of Sewer Plant now under construction, as per recommendation of ioific Air Industries. It was moved by Bowen, second by Lawhead to purchase two 16 foot Christmas trees and 25 strands of colored lights for t~e purpose of making Christmas display on property of the City across Central Avenue from theCity Hall. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Leonard. Lawhead. Bowen. Shufelt None Webster Motion carried. It was moved by Bowen, second by Lawhead that meeting be adjourned to Monday December 10th at 6:00 P.
