I ATTEST: / . ~eal Beach, California, April 7, 1952. The City Counci~ of the City of Seal Beach met in regular session at 8:00 P. M. with Mayor Shufelt presiding. Meeting was called to order with salute to the Flag. Present Mayor Shufelt Councilmen: Webster, Leon~rd, Lawhead, Bowen I Absent Councilmen: None The minutes of regular meetine of Harch 17 were read and approved on Mayors motion. COMM'JtTICATIONS: Letter of Sea Scouts asking permission and business license to Sea Scout's sell fire wood on the beach. It was moved by Leonard, second by Fire Wood Webster that permit be granted and license fee waived. AYES: Webster, Leonard, Lawhead, Bowen, Shufelt NeES: ABSENT: None None ~iotion carried. Legion Awt Girl I State - Letter of American Legion Auxiliary asking Council for an , appropriation to help defray expense.of sending one Girl to Girl's State, Sacramento. It was m~ved by Bowen, second by Lawhead that request be denied and the Auxiliary informed of the ruling made by a former City Attorney on the matter of donations. Motion carried. Letter of J. H. McGaugh, School Superintendent, asking cancel- School Taxes lation of City Taxes against property recently acquired for school purposes. Referred to City Attorney. 13G Letter of Karl P. Teget. Contractor for the new sewer plant, Teget S informing ewer expected. COIIDCi 1 of progress and time completion can reasonably be Received and filed. Report for the month of March of Police Chief, City Judge, Water, Tax and Building Dep~rtment were read. It was moved by Leonard, second by Bowen that reports be received and filed. Motion carried. Demands numbering 1387 to 1482 inclusive, amounting to$28,438.52 as approved by the Finance Cornmi ttee wer'e presented. It was moved by Bowen, second by Leonard that the reading of Ordinance No: 420 be waived. 420 Motion carried. It was moved by Bowen, second by Leonard that Ordinance No. 420 " be deemed as having had its second and final reading and be adopted. I. Case Tractor be purchased by the City from M.& M. Equipment Repair Co. on Case a deferred rental purchase agreement at a price of $3,000 plus sales Trac- tor tax.
