CALL FOR SPECIAL MEETING,
To the,members of the City Council of the City of
Seal Beach California.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a Special Meeting of
the City Council, of the City of Seal Beach, is called at the
request of the Mayor, for the purpose of considering
I
(1) Zoning in Block 4 Lot 5 Bay City Tract for the
purpose of oonstructing a six (6) unit apartment building.
(2) FUrther to dfscuss and diredt aotion on the mat-
ter of building islands in the ocean within the City of Seal
Beach.
(3) Discussion and preparation of an ordinance to be
voted upom defining the gambling issue.

It was moved by Leonard, second by Bowen to direct
the City Attorney to take such action as was possible to halt
the construotion of oil drilling islands in the ocean within
the Incorporated area of the City and said City Council autho-
rized to engage any additional help they may require.

Mayor Shufelt appointed Councilmen Leonard and
Bowen to said committee.
W. L. Robertson of the Airport Club was present and
stated that he had deposited with the Office of City Clerk an
inititive petition carrying 640 signatures, asking the Counoil
to call a special eleotion on the controversial gambling issue,
and stating the proposed ordinance contain substantially the
same conditions that prevail in the presen~ ordinance.
Meeting was adjourned on Mayor's motion.
