Meeting was called to order with salute to the Flag. Present: Mayor Shufelt . Councilmen: Bowen, Lawhead, Leonard, Webster Absent: " None The minutes of regular meeting of August 18th and special meetingsof August 26 were read and approved on Mayor's motion. COMMUNICATIONS: Letter of Mrs. Viola A. Mendoza suggesting the install- , ing of plug-in lights on the pier for use of night fishermen. Held over for oonsideration at time ~~rEdison Co. proposal for re-wiring. Letter of Charles C. Stratton making applioation for . position as special Council to assist Mr. Williams on the pros- ecution of the proposed tidelands oil drilling. \ Report for the month Of'~ugust of Police Chief, City ,Judge, Water and Tax Department were read.
