October 20, 1952 The City Council of the City of Seal Beach, met in regular session at 7:30 P. M. with Mayor Shufelt presiding. Meeting was called to order with salute to the Flag. Present: Mayor Shufelt Councilmen: Bowen, Lawhead, Leonard, Webster I, , Absent: It None It The minutes of the regular adjourned meeting of Oct- ober 7th were read and approved on Mayor's motion. COMMUNICATIONS: ./ Card of thanks from Mrs. Louis Jaeckel. Reoeived and Filed. Letter of thanks from the 8th grade Grammar School pupils for the use of the Auditorium. Letter of the Senior Woman's Club asking for use of the Auditorium the afternoon of October 22 for the purpose of holding a card party. It was moved by Webster, second by Bowen that request be granted. Motion carried. I Letter of the Junior Woman's Club asking to use the Council Chambers eight consecutive Thursday evenings for the purpose of conducting and sponsering an Adult Education Art Class. It was moved by Webster, second by Bowen that request be grant- ed and matter referred to the Building Custodian, Police Chief Howard. Motion carried. Letter of the American Legion Auxiliary ask~ng to use the Auditorium the evening of November 4th for the purpose of conducting a card party. It was moved by Bowen, second by Lawhead that request be granted and matter referred to Building Custodian, Police Chief Howard. Motion carried. I Recommendation of the Planning Commission for change in zoning of business property along the Highway from green, . light industry to red, oommercial. Referred to City Attorney Letter of Karl P. Teget, Sewer Plant Contractor, resub- mitting bill for Extra No.1. It was moved by Webster, second by Bowen that Clork write Mr. Teget to refer to his letter or July 9, 1952, and stating Council had not reversed their opinion on the Water Dist. resolution. Report for the month of September of City Treasurer and City Clerk was presented. It was moved by Bowen, second by Webster that reports be received and filed. Motion carried. Demands n~bering 646 to 703 inclusive, amounting to $ 12,749.95 as approved by the Finance Committee were presented. Reso. Resolution No. 783 was presented in memory of Louis 783 Jaeckel. It was moved by Webster, second by Bowen that Resolution No. 783 be adopted.
