The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in
regular session at 7:30 P. M. and was called to order by Mayor
Shufelt with salute to the Flag.

The minutes of regular meeting of November 3rd were
read and approved on Mayors motion.
COMMUNICATIONS:
Letter of the American Legion Auxiliary requesting the
Council to appoint one of their members to represent the City on
the Christmas Basket Program. Mayor appointed Councilman Lawhead
to represent the City on said program.
Letter of Frank L. Bowman, Attorney, processing Lots
47~49, Block 106, Bay City Tract. Referred to City Attorney
Letter of Frank L. Bowman stating that owners of Lot 5,
Block 109. Bay City Tract were tendering check in the amount of
$154.64 delinquent taxes and penalties and check in the sum of
$31.32 amount of investigation fees paid Holcomb and Diamond.
It was moved by Webster, second by Bowen that above sums be
accepted and City Tax Collector directed to issue the usual tax
redemption certificate and restore said property to the tax roll.

Letter of Karl P. Teget, Sewer Plant Contractor, re-
submitting bill for extra No.1. Received and filed as demand on
same is now being processed.
Letter of Currie Engineering Company certifying that
sewer plant was completed as of October 16th and all construct-
ion was found to be in accordance with plans and specif,ications
Held over pending for some minor adjustments.
Report for the month of October of City Treasurer and

Clerk were presented. It was ~oved by Bowen, second by Leonard
that reports be received and filed.

Demands numbering 793 to 867 inclusive amounting to
$8,5l2.82 were presented. Warrant No. 861 payable to Jay De
Armond in the sum of $30.85 for Halloween party pop corn was
withdrawn by Mayor Shufelt and will be paid by him personally.
Warrant No. 8S2 in the sum of $105.03, payable to Willard Hanz-
lik for electric wiring of the Halloween party grounds was with-
drawn by Councilman Leonard to be paid for by him personally. It
was then moved by Webster, second by Bowen that balance of bills
be approved for payment and warrants drawn on the Treasurer for
same.

Motion carried.
Letter of W. S. Knighton requesting that an employee
competent to make necessary tests at the sewer plant be given a
base pay of $300.00 per month, and an adjustment of equality be '
made for the other two men in that department. Held for adjust-
ment commencing January 1.
The matter of bad drainage condition partly caused by
railroad track construction near the east end of Electric Avenue
was discussed at some length.
Attorney Williams was directed to
contact the Pacific Electric Railway on the matter and see if the
. City could not get some oo-operation from them in working ou~ ways
to correct the condition.
It was moved by Webster, second by Bowen that a sum not
exceeding $200.00 be allowed for a survey and recommendation to
help correct our beach erosion problem. The Clerk to contact
J. A. Wooley to inquire if he would be availible to make necess-
ary study.
