I Seal Beach, California I June l6, 1953 The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in regular session at 8:00 P. M. with Mayor Shufelt presiding. Meeting was called to order with salute to the Flag. Ordinance No. 433 was presented, an amendment to the Water Ordinance. It was moved by Webster, second by Lawhead to waive the reading of Ordinance No. 433. Resollltion No. 809 was presented, confirming report of Street Superintendent on cost of weed abatement and declaring same ~o be a lien on said properties. Mayor Shufelt suggested that the City ,Attorney prepare a resolution appointing Harry C. Logan as Street & Water Superinten~nt dent to which a1l Council members concurred. I Engineer Woolley's report ot trip to Washington, D.C. regarding beach erosion was read by Mayor Shufelt, also letter received from Senator Kuchel and Congressman Utt, assuring their assistal'!fe on any relief measures that would be presented to thll Congress. Mr. Ro Shep of the Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce was ~BD " present and presented the Council an award of merit from the Calif- ornia Safety Council commending Seal Beach for its 100% traffic safety record. Councilman Lawhead suggested that the Clerk address a letter to all civic bodies asking them to have a menber present and meet with the Council Tuesday, June discuss the establishing and setting up 23rd. at 7:30 P.M. to I of a recreation center p' a~ program.
