Meeting was called to order with the salute to the Flag. Present: Mayor Shufelt Councilmen: Bowen, Lawhead, Leonard, Webster Absent: II 11 None The minutes ot the regular meeting of June 16, 1953 were read and approved on the Mayor's motion. The minutes of the Special meeting of Jlme 25, 1953 were read and approved on the Mayor IS motiqn., COMMUNICATIONS : Jessie Reed Ins. Jessie W. Reed, Insurance Agent, requested permission to insure the new recreation building against fire. It was moved by Bowen, second by Leonard that permission be granted if it did not conflict with any other previous arrangements. Mendoza, President, requesting information in regard to the status of the Ajax Construction Co. and the Hellman Estate' transfer was received and filed. ~ayor Shufelt stated that he believed the transf.er would be completed soon. Mr. Hassinbiller addressed the Council and stated that a recent restraint on loans for such purposes had been recinded as of this date and that he also felt the transfer should be completed soon. Resolution No. 812 authorizing Harry C. Logan to sign and execute documents as Su~t. of the Street and Water Depts. waa presented. Resolution Nq. 813 directing the sale of all series' Two Pier Bonds was presented. It was moved by Bowen and seoonded by Lawhead that Resolution No. 813 be adopted. No. 406 for Lots 9-10, Block 9, Bay City Tract was discussed at length. It was moved by Bowen and seconded by Lawhead that the matter be re- ferred to the Planning Commission for recommendation and possible amendment or repeal of Ordinance No. 406. AYES: NOES: Bowen, Lawhead, Leonard, Webster Shufelt Motion carried. The possibility of entering a booth in the Orange County Fair was discussed. Mr. Foley of the Foley Decorating Co. presented several ideas for decorating at a cost of $148.50. No action was taken. Mrs. Mendoza addressed the Council in favor of the remov~l of parking restrictions on Sundays and Holidays on'the main streets of the City. No definate action WaS taken after considerable di~cuss- ion. The report or the completion of the pier lighting project by the Electric Machinery and Service, Inc. by H. Simmons, Electrical Engineer, was received and filed. It was req~ested by the Tax Collector that Mr. Frank Bowman of the law firm of Bradley and Bowman, Santa Ana, be .again employed -- on the same basis to clear certain lots deeded to the City. It was moved by Bowen, seconded, by Webster that the request be granted. AYES: NOES: Bowen, Lawhead, Leonard, Webster, Shufelt None Motion carried.
