The City Council of the City of Seal Beach Met in
regular session at 7;30 P.M. with 14ayor Shufelt presiding.
Meeting was called to order with the salute to the Flag.

1953 were read and approved on the Mayors motion.
C OMMUlHCATIONS :
Letter froM the Metropolitan Water District requesting
a reply if the City wished to continue present taxing method.

Mr. Buck stated that he had prepared such a letter and would
forward it on. if the Council so desired. It was moved by
Bowen and seconded by Leonard that the letter be sent to the
Metropolitan Water District..

Letter from Beaumont High School req'lesting a: con-

tribution to send the High School Band to the Midwest National
Band Clinic in Uhicago, was received and filed.
Letter of thanks from the Seal Beach Lions Club for
the use of City property for the childrens Halloween party was
received and filed.
Request of the Community Methodist Church to erect
directional si~s. It was moved by Webster and seconded by
Bowen that the request be granted under the supervision of
City Administrator Harry Logan.

Letter from Mrs. John A. Lynde. 216 17th Street. re-
questing alley repairs. The City Clerk was directed to answer
stating that when the Street Depar~'I1ent's prograM was completed
alley repairs would be made. Received and filed.
Request of the American Legion Auxiliary, Mrs.
Katherine Bridges. Ghairman. askIng for the use of a city truck
to deliver Christmas baskets to needy fa~ilies was referred to
Mr. L03an with approval.

present a clwfew ordinance in existance and that it was being
enrorced by the Chier of Police. The Clerk was directed to
so advise the Woman's Club with thanks ror their co-operation.

$8.205.93 as approved by the Finance Committee were presented.
It was m3ved by Leonard and seconded by Bowen that the demands
be allowed and warrants drawn on the Treasury ror the same.

Resolution No. 821 was presented. It was moved by
Leonard and seconded by Bowen that Resolution No. 8~1 be adopted
and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign the
tentative agreement to establish the West Orange County Water
District tentative plan. AYES: Bowen. Lawhead. Leonard. Webster

Resolution No. 822. Requesting the County Board or
Supervisors -to cancel delinquent County taxes on certain tax
deeded lots was presented. It was moved by Webster and second-
ed by Bowen that Resolution No. 822 be adopted.

The Mayor sugges~ed that an inspection fee should be
established in regard to moving buildings into the City. After
some discussion the matter was rererred to Mr. Logan for investi-
gatfon and report.
The Mayor appointed Leonard and Lawhead to serve on

the Youth Center Committee and to consult with the Youth Center
Director and others about a use program of the building.
There being no further business. the meeting was
adjourned on the Mayor1s motion.
