The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in adjourned
session at 8:00 P.M.
ROLL CALL - Present:

The following communications were read:
1. Chas. S. Gillingham - Requesting the City to remove the palm
tree from the parkWay in front of 147 - 11th Street.
It was moved by Henkey, seconded by Felts to receive and file the
communication from Mr. Gillingham, and that the matter of removing

the palm tree be referred to the Street Dep1t.

2. Roy S. Nelson, 215 Compton Blvd., Hynes, Calif. -

Manager - Bid for registered warrants of the City of Seal Beach
up to $35,000.00. Rate of interest to be charged, 5 per cent.
It was moved by postal, seconded by Felts to receive and file the
bid of the Bank of America, and that the bid be accepted.

RESOLUTION NO. 499 was introduced and read. - A RESOLUTION

NOTES, TAX ANTICIPATION WARRANTS, OR OTHER EVIDENCES OF INDEBTED-
NESS ON BEHALF OF SAID CITY.
It was moved by Postal, seconded by Henkey that Resolution No. 499

for the building, and 820.00 per month rent to the
City if he can leave the building on the property for
six months to be used as a store-room for potatoes.
The question of finding a new location for the salvage depot
was discussed. Mr. Miller suggested that Mr. Harper be approached
with the proposal of allowing the City to continue to ~se a portion
of the building for storage of salvage material.
It was moved by Postal, seconded by Henkey that Mr. Miller be author-
ized to negotiate with Mr. Harper for the sale of the old garage build.

It was moved by Postal, seconded by Henkey that the second reg-
ular meeting be held on Thursday, October 2Sth, 1943, at 7:30 P.M.
instead of the 21st in order that the members of the Oity Council may
attend the 45th Annual Conference of the League of California Cities
in sacramento, October 19th to 21st.

It was moved by Postal, seconded by Felts that the members of the City
Council, the City Attorney and City Clerk be advanced the sum of
$75.00 each, to attend the Conference, and that this amount be adjuste(
later to the actual cost o! the trip.
