NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a Special Meeting of-the City Council of the City'of Seal Beach is called at the request of the Mayor for the purpose of opening bids for installation of sewer and water mains in Tract 698, pursuant to Notice Inviting Bids published in the Seal Beaoh Post& Wave; "and for any and all other matters of business whioh may properly come before said Oity Council. Meeting to be' held on Friday, the lOth day. of December, 1943, at the hour of 7:30 P.U., in the Council Chamoer of the City Hall Building. Motion carried. . -, I Letter from Bailey & porton asking for the Councills approval of use of 2" subflooring instead of the 1" lumber as specified in the Building Co.de. The sawmills are not producing 1" lumber' for' .subflooring. It was moved by Henkey, seconded by Hughes to receive and file the corr~unication from Bai~ey & Norton, and that the C~unci1 approve the change in construction as outlined in the communication, and that the communication be referred to the Building-Inspector. . Motion-carried. Defense Frank Shufelt, Chairman Civilian Defense Committee of the Leader - C. Z. Seal Begch War Council - Recommending the appointment of Chas. Z. Irvine. Alamitos Bay Project'. Irvine as Leader of Civilian Defense activities. On the Mayor's motion the communication was received and ordered II' files, and action on the matter deferred until next meeting of the Council. Mayor Reed called attention to the preliminary steps in the . proposed development in Alamitos Bay being under way with out hav- ing consulted the City of Seal Beach. She suggested that the City protest to the State against the a~arding of Contract for the work 1 t:l"il 0). until the consent of the City has been obtained. It was moved by Hughee, seconded by Henkey that the City Attorney and City Engineer confer with each other on the matter, and forward a I' letter of protest to the State Divisio~ ot Lands.
