The Oity Council of the City of Seal Beach met in regular session at, 7:30 P.M., and was called to order with salute to the flag. . ROLL CALL - Present: Mayor Reed Oouncilmen relts, Bone I Henkey, Hughes, Postal Absent: PiTITIOlfS Petition signed by Grace O. Stanton, P. A. Stanton, Mrs. J. P. Butler, and 397 other residents and/or property owners in the Oity of Seal Beaoh, requesting the Council to retain Lee Howard as Chief of Pollce. It was moved by Henkey, seconded by Hughes to reoeive and fUe the communioation from the Planning Oommission, and that the matter be ". ~, 63 referred to the City Oouncil and City At~orney to olarify the build- ing restrictions in the zoning ordinance; and that 'the Planning Com- mission bs invited to meet with the City Council for study of the zoninE ordinance for the purpose of consideration of amendments to certain sections thereof. '1944, 'on a salary of 82100.00 per year. with option to appoint a part time clerk when needed. Oouncilman Felts raised the question as to whether the wOrk of the office justifies a salary of t175.00'per month. and whether the tull- time servioes of anyone is needed. It was moved by Benkey, seconded by postal to receive and file the communication from the War Oouncil. and that Ohas. Z. It was moved by Henkey, seconded by Hughes that the Oouncil rescind the former aotion accepting the d~ed to Lot 7. Traot 400, and that the Tax Co~leotor be authorized to acoept the oheck, and.to issus the usual redemption oertifioate.
