HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Min 1944-07-05 160 Seal Beach, California, July, 5, 1944. The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in special session at 9:30 A. M. as required by law to canvass the returns .. of the Special Municipal Election of June, 27, 1944, and to install the newly elected officers. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Ashman with salute to the Flag. I ROLL CALL: Present, Absent, Maypr Ashman Councilmen, Reed. Gabntner None City Clerk read notice of call for Special Meeting and sectlon 9918, of Callfornia Election's Code. THE FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS was the counting of absent voters ballots. Thirty ballots in all were used, two unvoted or not returned, two were spoiled, twenty six in number were pub- licaly opened and ballots placed in the ballot box, upon check- ing results were found to be as follows. A resolution declaring the results of the Special Municipal Election of June, 27, 1944. JAECKEL was elected City Councilman of the City of Seal Beach to fill the unexpired term; that MAYSON W. SHOULER was elected City Councilman of the City of Seal Beach to' fill the unexpired term Moved by Reed, seconded by Gauntner that Resolution No. 521 be adopted.
