HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Min 1944-07-25 1 Seal Beach, California, July, 25, 1944. The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in adjourned session at 9:30 A. M., and was called to order by Mayor Gauntner with salute to the Flag. ROLL CALL: ,I Present, Mayor Gauntner Councilmen, Reed, Shouler, Jaeckel None Absent, The first order of business was the appointment of a new member to the Council to fill the vacancy, It was moved by Council- Butler man Jaeckel, seconded by Shouler that J. P. Butler be appo~nted. Council AYES: Reed, Shouler, Jaeckel, Gauntner NOES: None ABSENT: None Motion carried Mr. Butler took the Oath of office and his seat at the Council table. The purchase of a sweeper attachment for the caterpillar was discussed. Councilwoman Reed moved that the matter be held Sweeper over until next meeting, seconded by Jaeckel. AYES: NOES: ABSE1'TT: Reed, Shouler Butler, Jaeckel, Gauntner None None Motion carried The matter of the City deriving some financial return from the parking space on the beach on both sides of the Pier was under Pier discussion. Councilman Jaeckel moved that the City Attorney be Park'g to draw up a resolution providing for the rent of this directed I space and same to be under direction of the Police Department, seconded by Butler. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Reed, Shouler, Butler, Jaeckel, Gauntner None None Motion carried The purchase of two Life Boat's for the Beach was discussed, Oouncillll!111 Jaeckel motioned to instruct the Purcha.sing agent to Life examine two that ,were offered for sale at a nearby beach for $25.00 Boat ... ..'
