M. and was called to order by Mayor Gauntner. ROLL CALL: Present, Absent: Mayor Gauntner Councilmen, Reed, Shouler, Butler, Jaeckel None I The minutes of regular meeting of June, 20, were read and , , approved on Mayor's motion. The minutes of Speclal meeting of July 25, were read and approved on Mayor's motion. COMMUlUCATIONS: Letter from the Secretary of the Huntington Beach, County Fair. It was moved, by Butler, seconded by Jaeckel that the same ~ be referred to the Chamber of Commerce. Motion carried State Board of Equalization acknowledging receipt of City Assessors Annual report. CouncilwomaJ~~~ved to receive and file, seconded by Shouler. Motion carried I Letters from Jessie M. Havens, Dessie R. Burns, Gertrude Koch, asking for return of Housing Re-Location bond. Kirkbride, Seal Beach taxi-cab operator suggest- Taxi ing the need for a.taxi-cab ordinance. It was moved by Butler, Ord. seconded by Shouler to receive and file and await receipt of copy's of ordinances from near by cities. Motion carried I Benno John'n Letter of Benno and Johnson, addressed to Building Inspector Xrinwinkel asking for a permit to move a frame building to lot at 327, Main Street. Councilwoman Reed objected on account of fire hazard and establishing precedent for others to do the sam~that letter be referred back to the Building.Inspector. Motion carried Mr. Joe Senick of Brown Bevis Co" appeared before the Council and explained the steps necessary to obtain priority1s in the purchase of City equipment. It was moved by Op'n Butler, seconded by Jaeckel, that the City Attorney be directed to prepare the proper form of petition to be circulated among property owners, agreeing that they would not sell to, lease or rent to people only of the Caucasian race.
