The City Council of the City of 8ea1 Beach met in regular
session at 7:30 P. M. and was called to order by Mayor Gauntner
with salute to the Flag.
ROLL CALL:
Present Mayor Gauntner

Absent, Councilman Butler
The minutes of the regular meeting of September, 18th were
read and approved 0 n Mayor's mot ion.
COMMUNICA TImrs:
Letter from J. H. McGaugh, Suoerintendent of the Seal Beach
School District asking for cancellation of 1944 - 4, taxes on
lots 38 - 40 Block 210, acquired by the District. It was moved by
Councilwoman Reed, seconded by Jaeckel that communication be rec-
eived and filed, that the request be granted on approval of the
City Attorney.

Letter of resiginaticn of B, F. Krenwinke1 was read. Previous
to the calling of the poll Councilman Butler took his seat at
the Council table. It ~as moved by Councilman Jaeckel, seconded
by Shou1er that resigination be accepted, and that the City Attorney
be directed to write Ur. Krenwinkel a letter commending him for
his long, faithful and efficient service rendered to the City.

Atxorney Williams read a letter from the State Railroad
Commission in reply to one he had written regarding rates charged
for electricity, by the Southern California Edison Company in
the City of Seal Beech, It was moved by Councilman Shouler,
seconded by Jaeckel that investigation be made and a get-to-
gsther meeting arranged with the proper officials.

Attorney Williams reported on progress of the Navy set-
tlement and discusseQwhat he had learned of the Municipal Bond

read be ap~roved and warrants drawn on the Treasury for same.

the report of the Street Superintendent on the cost of weed ab-
atement. It was moved by Councilwoman Reed, seconded by Shouler
that resolution No. 525 be adopted,

that the City Attorney be directef to prepare an amendment to
the Trailer Perk-Ord~nance, providing for a minimum license fee
of $150 and for 35.00 for each additional unit in excess of thirty.

NEW BUSINESS:
It was moved by Councilman Butler, seconded by Jaeckel that
the City Attorney be directed to prepere an ordinance, carrying
an emergency clause, combining the position of City Engineer,
Building Inspector and purchasing Agent under the direction of
Lee S. Whidden at a monthly salary of $300,00 with $25.00 addit-
ional for the use of his personal car.
