HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Min 1944-11-06 Seal Beach, California. November 6, 1944. The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in regular session at 7:30 P. M, and was called to order by Mayor Gauntner with salute to the Flag. Present: Mayor Gauntner Councilmen, Reed, Shouler, Butler, Jaeckel None " I Absent: The minutes of regular meeting of October 16th were read and ap9roved on liayor's motion. COM1l"UNICATIONS: Petition signed by six lOth street property owners, protestin~ the removal of the palm trees on that street. Mr. Chester A. Palmer ad~ressed the Council stating that all property owners on his stree t 10th St. Palm curbs or sidewalks caused by any palm tree growth. Mayor Gauntner stated that the Council had no intention of removing any trees until stood ready, at their own expense to repair any damage to streets Trees I asked to 60 so by the property owner, and would do everything rithin reason to preserve all tree growth and no trees would be removed unless causing a ha~ard f~f~~e~~strians, It was moved by Council- man Butler, seconded by Jaeckel to receive and file the communi- cation for future reference. Milton for removal of one palm tree from in front of their lot located at 229, 8th Street. It was moved by Councilman Butler, seconded by CannOn Jaeckel that petition for cancellatlon be granted. It was moved by Councilman Jaeckel, seconded by Butler that demands as read be allowed and checks drawn on the freasury for same. Council- Eng'nr woman Reed made the objection that she considered the combined Salary job too big for one man. It was moved by Councilman Shouler, sec- onded by Jaeckel that Resolution No. ,30 be adopted.
