The Oity Oouncil of the Oity of 8eal Beach met in regularrsession
at 7:30 P. M. and was called to order my Mayor Gauntner with
salute to the Flag.

It was moved by Counoilman 8houler, 'seconded by Butler ~hat the
minutes of meeting be amended to include Dana R. Williams, as
member of Greater 8eal Beach Committee. Were then approved on
Mayors motion.

Letter of Office of Defense Transportation, fixing time and
~ate for meeting with City officials on our bus problem referred
to City Attorney.
Letter from the Seal Beach Branch,. American Red Cross,
thanking City Council for granting use of building vacated by O.P.A.
Received and filed on llayors motion.
Two letters from Travelers Indemnity Company enquiring as
Bond Co to release of bond on Meisen and Grant properties. Referred to
City Attorney. Building inspector to check requirements of
putting bui]ding in condition, and estimated cost of same.
Letter of J. C. Fslts Chairman, Red Cross fund drive
Red Cross asking financial support. It was moved by Councilman Butler,
$100. seconded by Jaeckel that the City oontribute $100.00

CITY OFFICERS REPORTS:
Reports for the month of February, of Chief of Police, City
Judge and of C. A. Miller of the Building, ~ater and Tax Departments
were read. It was movee by Councilman Butier, seconded by Jaeckel
that reports as read be received and filed.

Howard Smith, of the land and lease department of the Honolulu
Oil Corporation appeared before the Counoil and presented a proposal
for leasing of Seal Beach, beaoh property, for the purpose of
locating of their derricks for the drilling of State tide lands.
The matter being held in abeyance until Tusday, Maroh 13, at which
time it is the Council's intention to further review the proposal.
ACCOUNTS AND BILLS:
Demands numbering 917,988 inolusive.,~ ~ Amounting
to $6,073.82 were read. It was moved by Councilman Jaeckel, seconded
by Shouler that demands as read be approved and warrants drawn on
the Treasury for same.
