M. and was called to order by Mayor Jaeckel with salute to the Flag. Present, Mayor Jaeokel Councilmen, Shouler, Shufelt. Reed. Butler None I Absent. The minutes of regular meeting of April 16th and special meeting of April 30th were read and approved on Mayors motion. COMMUNICATIONS: Dept Finan Letter from the Department of Finance approving demand for Defense Telephone expenee. Reoeived and filed on Mayors motion. COllMUNICATIONS: Bond Letter of Guy F. Atkinson Company, stating their ~ork on the Navy Project had been completed and asking release of their indem- nity bond. Our City Engineer stated there were a couple of minor Release details to be cleared up. It was moved by Councilwoman Reed, secon- ded by Butler to hold over until next regular meeting. Motion carried Letter of State Department of Finance, stating that they were Dept Fin remitting $570.40 on Civilian Defense account. Received and filed on Mayors motion. Letter of Fred J. Smith, offeri?g to the City, Lot 9, Block 107, sales price $1000.00. It was moved by Councilwoman Reed, sec- I Smi th lot onded by Butler to hold over and discuss at next regular meeting. Motion carried Letter of Pacific Coast Riflemen, offering services of the Rifle- organization to the City for another year. It was moved by Council- men man Butler, seconded by Shouler that offer be accepted and the mem- bers carried on the City pay roll at $1.00 per year, thereby making them eligable for State Compensation Insurance protection.
