M. and was called to order by Mayor Jaeckel with salute to the Flag. Present. Absent. Mayor Jasokel Councilmen. Shoulsr. Shufelt. ~eed, Butlsr None I The minutes of regular meeting of June 4th and adjourned meeting of June 14th were read and approved on Mayors motion. COMMUNtOATIONS: Letter of Mrs. G. W. Usry asking removal of t~ree Palm trees in vacinity of residence at 1054 Electric Avenue. Received and filed. Referred to committee on Streets and Lights for report. Letter of Arthur Perks. resigni~ng as Chairman of the War Chest. It was moved by Councilwoman Reed. seoonded by Butler that Mr. Perks resigination be accepted and City Clerk directed to write Mr. Perks a letter of appreciation for the fine work he has done. Motion carried It was moved by Councilman Butler. seconded by Shouler that application of Maxine M. Kirkbride for taxi-cab license be approved. I AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Shouler. Shufelt. Reed, Butler. Tomlin of the Seal Beach Trailer Park appeared before the Council requesting the Oity construct a sewer line from the boundry of his lease to their sewer plant. It was moved by Councilwoman Reed, seconded by Shouler that ordinance No. 311 be deemed as having had its seoond reading. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Shouler, Shufelt, Reed, Butler, Jaeckel Nons None Motion carried Ordinance No. 311 was read by title. It was moved by Council- woman Reed, seconded by Shouler that Ordinance No. 311 be deemed as having had its third reading by title and do now pass. It was agreed by all Council members to change the time of quenching beaoh fires from 12 to 11 P. M. It was moved by Councilwoman Reed, seconded by Shufelt that Ordinance No. 312 be deemed as having had itS first reading. Sewer Land AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Shouler, Shufelt, Reed, Butler, Jaeckel None None Motion carried It was moved by Councilwoman Reed, seconded by Shouler that the City Engineer make a study of needed land for sewer plant ex- pansion and report the same to the City Attorney. Motion carried It was moved by Councilman Shouler, seconded by Reed that Thea'tr O. C. Johnson owner of the new theater building on Main Street be Light I Boys Club permitted to have permanently removed the light standard which would be directly in front of the theater entrance. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Shouler, Shufelt, Reed, Butler, Jaeckel None None Motion carried Councilman Shufelt made the motion that the City build on the beach a building to cost $50.00aforbthe Boys Club to be used as a sl;/ and to sell refreshments, seconded by Butler. Both motion and second were withdrawn. It was moved by Councilman Shouler, seconded by Butler that the City erect such building at a cost to the City of $100.00 and r;;- (:;"i .-,. i~ &- fJ Bldg Supt Off's any excess cost above this amount be reimbursed to the Ci~y, by the Boys Club.
