M. and was called to order'b~ Mayor Jaeckel with salute to the Flag. Present, Absent, Mayor Jaeckel Councilmen Shouler, Butler, Shufelt Councilman, Reed I The minutes of regular meeting of September 4, and adjourned meeting of September 11 were read and approved on Mayors motion. COMMUNICATIONS: Card of appreciation from the Stanton family received and filed. Letter of Inez Lane on car damage settlement. Referred to City Attorney to again take up with the Indemnity Company and City Clerk to write Mrs. Lane to this effect. on Trailer Park sewer contract. It was City Engineers report Trailer moved by Butler, secon6ed Park Sewer Sewer Land by Shouler that bid of Willoughby & Co., for $2181.00 be accepted. upon the following conditions, that as soon as lease and permit is received from the Pactfic Electric Railway Company and approved by the City Attorney, that the Mayor be auth-J orized to execute a contract with Willoughby & Co., for constructi of sewer line, and when Mr. Dalby 'completes his part of contract heretofore agreed upon., Councilwoman'Reed took her seat at the Council table and motion was ~ead for her. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Shouler, Reed, Butler, Shufelt, Jaeckel None None Motion carried I It was moved by Shouler, seconded by Butler that the City Attorney be authorized to enter a stipulation with the defendents in the case of City of Seal Beach, VS: Hellman Et AI: To accept title to the real estate involved therein. and to defer the fixing of the value until the conclusion of litigation with the United States Government involving the Hellman land. ACCOUNTS AND BILLS: Demand numbering 296 to 336 inclusive, amounting to $2,692.95 were read. It was moved by Shufelt, seconded by Butler that demad as read be allowed and warrants drawn on the Treasury for same. After some discussion it was held in abeyance for further study. After considerable dis- cussion it was proposed that the City Clerk communicate with the Wrigley Company. 9 ." ~ Letter of the Girl Scout groups asking the Cities assistance in an attempt to locate a suitable building for activities headquarters. The matter of a City owned building at 146, 13th I " Street was referred to City Building Inspector for report. Letter of E. W. Reed asking that the City cancel lease of the - former O. P. A. building now in use by the Red Cross, as they Reeds have purchased same and asking that the building be moved at City expense to their property at 316, 10th Street. It was moved by Shufelt, seconded by Butler that the City cancel lease with the Red Cross and deliver building to address as requested and the Bu~lding Inspector and Purchasing Agent be directed to
