M. and was callsd to order by Mayor Jaeckel with salute to the Flag. Present, Mayor Jaeckel Councilmen, Shouler, Reed, Butler, Shufelt The minutes of the r~gular meeting of December 20, were read I and approved on Mayors motion. Letter of Diamond Cab Company of Long Beach, w~th check for $40.00, asking the Council to grant them a taxi-cab permit. No action was taken as Company made no proposal for meeting Cities or- dinance requirements. Letter of Frank Shufelt, Chairman War Finance Committee, ex- pressing appreciation to the Ci~y for its support in the recent Victory Bond Drive. It was m~ved by Butler, seconded by Shouler that a letter be sent to each member of the local committee thank- ing them for their vallant support. Motion carried Letter signed by C. Z. Irvine, Harold J. Frank and C. A. Safe Miller composi~g the bond committee appointed by Mayor Jaeckel, Deposit stating that they had rented'safe deposit box No.754 at the Box Belmont Shore Branch, Bank of America. It was moved by Shufelt, - Bonds Nola Tiomas Pier Lease I seconded by Butler that same be approved. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Reed, Butler, Shufelt, Jaeckel Shouler None Motion carried Letter of Nola Thomas requesting three months leave of absence. ,It was moved by Reed, second by Butler that request be granted. Motion carried CITY OFFICERS REPORTS: Corrected report of City Treasurer for November and of City Judge, Police Chief, and of the Building, Water and Tax Departme~ts were read. It was moved by Butlerp seconded by Reed that reports III be received and filed.
