The Oity Oouncil of the City of Seal Beach met in regular session
at 7:30 P. M. and was oalled to order by Mayor Jaeckel with salute
to the nag.

ing of January g, were read and approved on Mayors motion after slight
correction.
COMMUNICATIONS:
Letter of E. R. Stephens asking removal of two palm trees. Re-
ferred to the Street Committee for report.
Card of thanks from Mrs. Annie C. Green and Mr. and Mrs Everett
C. Kuntz, received and filed.
Letter of Orange County League of Cities announcing date of
regular monthly meeting. Received and filed.
Letter of Seal Beach, Chamber of Commerce requesting the City to
submit present plans and future contemplated projects, for beach de-
velopment, for proposed master plan. It was moved by Ree6, seconded
by Shouler that matter be referred to C. A. Miller for attention.

Letter of the Chamber of Commeroe request ion a resolution be
adopted by the Council opposing the Federal jurisdiction of lands
beneath tidewaters. Matter referred to City Attorney to prepare
said resolution.
It was moved by Butler, seconded by Reed that $25.00 be donated
to the "Matoh of Dimes" Committee, and Mayor authorized to sign oheck.

be approved, and City Attorney to prepare amendment to Ordinance 199.

Shouler that request be granted.

It was moved by Shufelt, seconded by Butler that the etching pre-
sented to the Women's Club for the greatest Seal Beach achievement
in 1945 be placed in the Oity Hall Lobby.

CITY OFFICERS REPORTS:
Oity Clerks report for the month of December was read. City
Attorney reported pn possible final payment from the Navy. Department
of the Interior denial of Valentine Script filing and reviewed the
contract with Curry Engineering Co. on on sewer plant expansion. It
was moved by Shufelt, seconded by Butler that City Clerks report be
received and filed.

It was moved by Butler, seconded by Shouler that the Mayor be
authorized to sign Pier Lease Agreement with Art Lescher and C. M.
Stockton.

ACCOUNTS AND BILLS:
Demands numbering 716 to 734 and 736 to 748 inclusive amounting
to $2, 024,00 were read. It was moved by Reed, seconded by Butler
that demands as read be allowed and wan~ants drawn on the Treasury.

It was moved by Reed, seconded by Butler that,the City Attorney
be directed to apply to the State Railroad Commission for a hearing
in an attempt to secure more frequent and better bus service.

It.was the wishes of the Council that the hour of dimming Main

The re-painting of the City pier was referred to the Oity
Engineer to secure data on equipment and oosts.
It was moved by Shufelt, seconded by Butler that the proposal
advance by members of the Grand Jury on a cQunty dog .ordinance and
county pound be approved by the Oouncil and a letter written Willis
Warner, Chairman and copy sent to. Oliver Terry, Orange notifying them
of the Councils feeling on the matter

Stat1n Station be located across Central Avenue opposite the present Station
House.

The minutes of regular meeting of January 17, were read and
approved on Mayors motion.

Protest petition and three letters from property owners protesting
proposed general re-zoning. It was moved by Reed, seconded by Shuf-
elt that letter of Mr. Gibson asking for re-zoning of property at IS/5

for rest home be referred to the Planning Commission.

It was moved by Shufelt that letters and petition protesting re-
zoning be referred to the Planning Commission with the suggestion
that present planning prevail and anyone wanting to re-zone make
written request and proceed as in the past with usual established
proceedure. Applicant to defray cost of said re-zoning.
