The City Council, of the City of Seal. Beach met in regular
session.at 7:30 P. M. and was called to order by Mayor Jaeckel with
salute to the Flag.

The minutes of r~gular meeting of Feb~uary 21st were read and
approyed on Mayors motion.
The first order of ~us~ness was the opening of bids for the
furnishing of cast iron pipe for the water lines. Three bids were
received. Bids for sandblasting and painting of the iron pipe
railing on the Municipal Pier were next opened and read. Seven

sideration to the proposals received on both jobs.
After all members of the Council again took their seats it was
~oved by Butler, second by Shufelt that bid of National Cast Iron
Pipe Co. be accepted.

outlined briefly the groundwork that had been laid and the outline
of possibilities. It was moved by Butler, second by Reed that the
City Clerk be directed to write the Seal Beach Chamber recommending
the Chamber contact various chambers in Orange County and various
organizations within and out of the County asking their support.

of building for which bond was underwritten on the Meisen building
referred to the City Attorney for attention.
Letter of Earl Whittington applying for job on the Maintenance
Department. Referred to Roy Thomas.
Letter of Frank McElrath asking permission to place two houses
on one plot of ground at 15th Street and Landing Avenue. Referred

It was moved by Butler, second by Shu-
felt that the City Attorney be directed to prepare a resolution on
the Federal Census to be presented to the Director of Finance.

Letter of Philip Norton commenting on community progress.
CITY OFFICERS REPORTS:
Report for the month of Police Department, City Judge, Building,
Water and Tax Departments were read. It was moved by Reed, second
by Shufelt that reports be received and filed.

direoted to contact the various clubs and organizations with the
suggestion that they appoint two members each to meet with the
