August 27, 1946.
The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in special session
as provided by law, to canvass the absent voters ballots and declare
the results of the Special Municipal Election of August 20, 1946.

Councilmen, Shufelt, Webster
Councilmen, Reed, Butler
The first ofder of business was the counting of of absent
Thirty four (34) ballots were issued, all were returned.

Sealed envelopes were publicaly opened and ballots placed in
the ballot box. The result of count was as follows.
QUESTION VOTED ON
"Shall the Ordinance which amends the Ordiance prohibiting the
drilling of wells for and activities in connection with the product-
ion of oil in the City of Seal Beach be amended.

Resolution 595 was introduced by City Attorney Williams. De-
claring the results of the Special Municipal Election of August 20,
THE CITY COUNCIL DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT .FURTHER RESOLVED; that at said Municipal
Election said measure was defeated by a vote of 225 For as
Against 67g against the passage of said Ordinance. It was moved
by Shufelt second by Webster that Resolution No. 595 be adopted.
