The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in regular ses~ion
at 7:30 P. M. and was called to order by Mayor Jaeckel with salute
to the Flag.

. The minutes of regular adjourned meeting of December
read and approved on Mayors motion.
Letter of the Chamber of Commerce recommending that surplus
medical supplies from Civilian defense not needed by the City be
turned over to the Red Cross. It was moved by Webster, second by
Butler that the Mayor direct sS.me to be done.
Motion carried
Circular from the County Youth Authority on proposed survey.
It was moved by Butler, second by Shufelt that same be referred to
Calvin Durango with the request that he attend meeting at Santa
Ana on the 14th if he can conveniently arrange to do so.

Letter of local committee with te~(lO) signatures asking the

Council for financial support and sponsorship to develop a Civic
chorus. It was decided to refer the committee present to the
Chamber of Commerce for sponsorship.
It was moved by Shufelt, second by Reed that the City Attorney
be directed to prepare an amendment to the Ordinance governing Beach
Life Guards and to place all guards on the same hourly pay:basis
of seventy five (75) cents per hour.

Report for the month of December of City Judge, Police Chief,
Building, Water and Tax Departments were read. It was moved by
Butler, second by Webster that reports be received and filed.

Demands numbering 740 to 808 inclusive amounting to $5,759.92
as approved by the Finance Committee were presented. It was
moved by Reed, second by Shufelt that demands be allowed and war-
rants for sa.me be drawn on the Treasury for same.

over awaiting legal opinion on use tax.

It was moved by Butler, second by Shufelt that invoices for
fire equipment, chassis and its equipment as presented by Municipal
Fire Equipment Company in the amount of $6,6S4.66, less $206.65
for insurance be allowed. The City to be billed for the amount of
the pro-rated insurance and demand No. 809 be.approved in the sum
Of $6,4~8.01.

146, 13th Street. It was moved by Reed, second by Webster that
