The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in regular session at 7':'30 P. M. and was called to order by Mayor ~aeckel.with salute to the Flag. Present, Absent, Mayor Jaeckel Councilmen, Butler, Webster, Shufelt, Reed Councilmen, None I The minutes of regular meeting of February 26th and Adjourned meeting of March 4th were read and approved on Mayors motion. COMMUNICATIONS: Petition of William A. Carlson with fOrty five (45) signatures asking permiseiorr to operate an eating place under the Pier. Received and filed. Letter of Veterans of Foreign Wars asking Council for lease of the Parking Lot evenings. Received and Filed. Letter of Inez Lane requesting adjustment for damage to her car. City Clerk to write her giving her name of contractors who left ex- cavation in a bad condition in the alley where car was parked. Letter of E. L. Kindseth asking that building permit be issuedl. him to move a steel welded building to Lot 4, Block 9, Bay City Tract. Council referred matter to the Building Department with directions to issue such permit. Letter of George D. Breen making perposal for sale of ice cream from truck to be located on the Parking Lot, Received and Filed. Letter of Ralph J. Clark making proposal for sale of ice cream from truck to be located on the Parking Lot. Received and Filed. Letter of Charles D. Shaw of the California Surf.Rider Company making proposal for beach concession. Received and Filed. Letter and sketch of the proposed new construction for the Com- munity Methodist Church. Referred to the Planning Commission. Report for the month of February of City Judge, Police Chief, Building, Water, and Tax Departments were read. It was moved by Shufelt, second by Butler that reports be received and filed. Motio~ carried Demands numbering 953 to 1036 inclusive amounting to $7,315.45 I as approved by the Finance Committee were presented. It was moved by Reed, second by Shufelt that demands be allowed and warrants drawn on the Treasury for same. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Butler, Webster, Shufelt, Reed, Jaeckel None None Motion carried I I I Ord 340 Truck Bids ~:L'l Ordinance No. 340 was presented, Spot Zoning Lot 9 Block 108. It was moved by Shufelt, second by Webster that Ordinance No. 340 be deemed as having had its second reading. Motion carried Ordinance No 3~0 was read by title. It was moved by Reed, secom by Shufelt that Ordinance No, 3~0 be deemed as having had its 3rd reading by title and do now pass. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Butler, Webster, Shufelt, Reed, Jaeckel None None Moticn carried One bid was received in response to legal advertisement for a truck for the Maintenance Department. It was moved by Butler, 2nd by Shufelt that bid of Alray Auto Sales for supplying of truck in the sum of $1,737.37 be accepted and the Mayor authorized to sign said check.
