M. and was called to order by Mayor Jaeckel with salute to the Flag. Present, Absent, Mayor Jaeckel Councilmen, Butler, Webster, Shufelt, Reed Councilmen, None COMMUNICATIONS: Letter of the Long Beach Veterans Community Band asking for da.te to give concert in the City park. Referred to the Chamber of Comm. Letter 'of Inez Lane calling attention to the accident to her car. Referred to the City Attorney for attention. Letter of A. T. UacKay proposing a City owned Ice Cream concession. Mackay appeared before the Council explaining his proposition. Letter from Glen Jones making proposal for ren~ of Cities bill- board across from the Trailer Park. McKay Ice' Or, Mr, Jones 6g'm Demands numbering 1156 to 11g6 inclusive, in the amount of $3,070.60 as approved by tae Finance Committee were presented for I payment. It was moved by Reed " second by Shufelt that demands be approved and warrants drawn on the Treasury for same. AYES: Butler, Webster, Shufelt, Reed, Jaeckel NOES: None' ABSENT: None Motion carried Reso 614 P. E. Bus's Deed I Rest Jeep Vets Resolution No. 614 was introduced. Increase in Old Age Assistance, It was moved by Reed, second by Shufelt that Resolution No. 614 be adopted. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Butler, Webster, Shufelt, Reed, Jaeckel None None Motion carried Councilwoman Reed reported that Central Avenue residents had complained as to the.speed which P. E. It was moved by Webster, second by Butler that not in excess of $200.00 be advanced to the American Legion for the purchase of a Jeep to be used for the purpos~ of Beach patrol and that the Mayor be authorised to sign said check.
