The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in special session as required by law to canvass the voze of the Special El- ection held on the 26th day of August, 1947. Present, Mayor Proltem, Shufelt Councilmen, Butler, Webster An~ent, Oouncilmen, Reed, Jaeckel AS there was no regular business to be transacted Mayor Pro-Tem Shufelt sugested that now was the time and place for the City Clerk to canvass the vote including the absent voters ballots and de- clare the results of the Special Municipal Election. I STATEMENT OF THE OITY OLERK OF THE OITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE OFFICIAL COUNT AND CANVASS OF THE VOTE OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY AUGUST 26, 1947. o. ... c -.... ... J Pursuant to the provisions of section 11121 of the Elections Code of the State of California, the undersigned John W. MUlcahy, City Clerk of the Oity of Seal Beach, California, does hereby declare the results of the canvas by him of the votes of the Special Municipal Election held in the City of Seal Beach, Calif- ornia, on the 26th day of August, 1947. Said City Clerk nereby declares that the following vote was cast. The whole number of votes cast for each of the candidates by precincts is shown to be as follows and the results of the canvass of absent voters ballots is added to the total count for each I candidate. Mayor Pro-Tem Shufelt named Clyde Miller temporary chairman Shu felt who called for nominations for mayor. It was moved by Jacobsen. Mayor second by Brostrom that Frank L. Shufelt be nominated for Mayor. which nomination was approved by unanimous consent. Mayor Shufelt named the standing committees. Motion carried Arma- gost It was moved by Brostrom, second by Jacobsen that Councilman Armagost be relieved from one or if necessary two meetings for the purpose of making a trip east for the purpose of a visit to his mother and his former home community.
