The City Council. of the City of Seal-Beach met in regular session at 8:00 P. M. and was called to order by Mayor.Shuflet with salute to the Flag. Present, Mayor Shufelt Councilmen, Brostrom, Jacobsen Councilmen, Webster, Armagost Absent, The minutes of regular meeting of August 27th and special meeting of September were read and approved on Mayors motion. COMMUNICATIONS: Letter of Orange County League of Cities announcing executive Oommittee meeting. Received and filed. Letter of Robie Kaufmann regarding issuance of business license to the vegetable and fruit stand at Main St. and 101. Held in abeyance until next meeting. Letter of Earl Whittington asking that he be employed as Life Guard on an all year round basis. It was moved by Jacobsen to deny the request as life guards were employeed on a seasonable basis, eecond by Brost~om. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Brostrom, Jacobsen, Shufe~t None Webster, Armagost Motion carried It was moved by Brostrom, second by Jacobsen to approve the Planning Commission recommendation for a sixty (60) days extension of time to H. O. Brundage on his re-zoning. Motion carried It was moved by Brostrom, second by Jacobsen to approve the Planning Oommission recommendation for a sixty (60) day extension of time to Peggy Ann Rauch on her re-zoning. Motion carried Action on the Planning Commissions resignation held over until the next regular meeting. Report for the month of August of Oity Judge, Pplice Chief, Buil- ding, Water and Tax departments were read. It was moved by Brostrom, second by Jacobsen that reports be received and filed. Motion carried Oity Attorney read copies of his letters addressed to the U. S. Army Engineers and Orange Oounty Board of Supervisiors on the re- moval of the Ocean Avenue Bridge. It was moved by Jacobsen,second by Brostrom that the Southern California Edison Oompany1s request for permission to cross City QUU streets with their power line to the Anaheim Bay dredging project be granted. Motion carried Resolution No. 625 was introduced. Counties interest in tax Reso deeded lots. It was moved by Jacobsen, second by Brostrom that 625 Resolution No. 625 be adopted. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Brostrom, Jacobsen, Shufelt None Webster, Armagost Motion carried I Adv It was moved qy Brostrom, second by Jacobsen that upon re- commendation of the City Attorney, City Clerk be directed to advertise for bids for the paving of Bay Bl~d, and Ocean Avenue Pav- ing Bat connection. & Ocean Motion carried Demands numbering 286 to 397 inclusive, amounting to $9,817.4-2 as approved by the Finance Committee were presented. It was moved . . by Brostrom, second by Jacobsen that demands be allowed and warrants drawn on the Treasury for sa~e.
