The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in regular Session
at 8:00 P~ M. and was called to order by Mayor Shufelt with salute
to the Flag.

The minutes of regular meeting of September 10th were read and
approved on Mayors motion.
COMMUNICATIONS:
Letter of Robbie Kaufman requesting, for their clients, that a
building permit be issued to install a rest room and that they be
furnished water at their location at Main Street and the Highway.
Held in abeyance until the return from vacation of Attorney Williams.
Letter of Inez Lane requesting adjustment of her claim for dam-
ages to her car caused by Excavation in the alley fronting ~sr
garage. Heled in abeyance for the Oity Attorney.
Letter of Mrs. G. D. Bryant complaining of the accumulation of
debris on Electric Avenue and the Pacific Electric right-of-way.
Council suggested that Street Superintendent write the P. E. calling
their attention to same and asking if they would not clear their
property of weeds and deb~is.
O. A. Miller read carbon copy of his letter addressed to the
Bureau of Water and Power and their reply regarding the discharge
complained of from their chimn~y.
Report for the month of August of Oity Treasurer ~nd Oity Clerk
were read. It was moved by Jacobsen, second by Brostrom that reports
be received and filed.
Motion carried
Demands numbering 398 to 428 inclusive amounting to .3,224-.28
Demands
as approved by the Finance Committee were presented. It was moved
by Brostrom, second by Jacobsen that bills be allowed and warrants
drawn of the Treasury for same.

Resolution No. 626 was presented. Authorizing signatures on
bank checks. It was moved by Jacobsen, second by Brostrom that Reso-

Next order of business was opening of bids for paving of Bay
Boulevard and Ocean Avsnue connection.

Oouncil recessed for the purpose of considering bid proposals.
After Oouncil re-assembeled it was moved by Brostrom, second II
by Webster to refer bids to the Oity Engineer and Attorney to checK.
Motion carried
It was moved by Webster, second by Jacobsen that City Olerk be
directed to advertise for bids for the furnishing of a new automobile
for the Police Department.

It was moved by Webster, second by Brostrom tha.t materials at a
cost of not tn excess of $400.00 be purchased for the purpose of
constructing a building 22 X 50 to house Oity equipment.

Mayor Shufelt named the following as members of the Planning
Commission, Elmer Hughes, John F. Burkhart, Fred J. Smith, J. H.
McGaugh, F. W. Hickman, Emil Jacobsen, Lee Whidden, Dana Williams
and Frank L. Shufelt. It was moved by Webster, second by Brostrom
to approve the appointments.

On Mayors motion meeting was adjourned to Tuesday September
