. The City Council of the Oity of Seal Beach met in regular session
at 7:30 P. M. and was called to order by Mayor Shufelt with salute
to the Flag.

The minutes of regular meeting of January 14th were read and
approved on Mayors motion.
Memorandum from the Orange Oounty Board of Supervisors advising
hearing on Sanitary District No. 4 was continued to February 3 at 2 P.~
Letter of Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Nelson making application to operate
minature steam train consession on the beach. As Council has under
consideration matter of placing on the ballot the question of beach
concessions no action was taken.
Report of City Treasurer and City Clerk for the month of December
was read. . It was moved by Jacobsen, second by Armagost that reports
be received and filed.
Motion carried
Demands numbering 870 to 8s6 inclusive amounting to $2,350.00
as approved by the Finance Committee were presented. It was moved
by Brostrom, second by Jacobsen that bills be allowed and warrants
drawn on the Treasury for same.

lt was mov~d by Webster, second by Brostrom that the Mayor be
authorized to sign lease with Bruce Bros. for rent of debris dump.

Mr. Hall who operated a service station at 5th Street and the
highway was present to complain about treatment accorded him while
doing some paint spotting on an automobile at his place of buisness.
Matter referred to the Police and Fire Oommittee.
It was moved by Webster, second by Jacobsen that Mayor Shufelt

be grante<< his request for one month's leave of ~absence.
