HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Min 1948-02-17 424 Seal Beach, California, February 17, 1948. The City Oouncil of the Oity of Seal Beach met in regular session at 7:30 P. M. and was called to order by Mayor Pro-Tem Brostrom with salute to the Flag. Present, Dayor Prot-Tem BrostroM Oouncilmen, Webster, Armagost, Jacobsen Mayor Shufelt I Absent, The minutes of regular meeting of February 3rd and adjourned meeting of February lOth were read and approved on Mayor Pro-Tem Mtn. COMMUNIOATIONS: Out Letter of Out Board Motor Club asking to move the Boys Olub Board Motor Building. Received and Filed for further information. Letter of American Legion, O. R. Sprouse COmmander' stating that Legion they were returning to the Oity Treasury $200.00 appropriated by the $200. Council last year towards the purchase of a Jeep for beach patrol. Letter of, the Department of Industrial Relations, calling atten- Indu- strial tion to certain necessary safeguards required at the sewage disposal Rela- plant. Letter of appreciation from the Womens Olub, received and filed Letter of V. F. W. making application for renewal of Parking Lot Weed lease. Received and Filed and referred to Beach and Park Oommittee. Letter of protest signed by nine (9) citizens asking that some other method than plowing be employed to control weeds on vacant Cont- rol 'lots. Matter referred to the Fire Chief to investigate and make a recommendation. Report of the City Treasurer and City Olerk for the month of January was read. It was moved by Jacobsen, second by Armagost that reports be received and filed. Motion carried Demands numbering 969 to 1012 inclus1ve amounting to $4,660.06 II as approved by the Finance Committee were presented. It was moved by Jacobsen, second by Armagost that bills be allowed and warrants dra~n on the Treasury for same. An Ord ordinance repealing all wage and salary ordinances. It was moved by Webster, second by Jacobsen that Ordinance No. 350 be deemed as 350 I having had its second reading. Motion carried Ordinance No. 350 was read by title. It was moved by Webster, second by Jacobsen that Ordinance No. 350 be deemed as having had its third and final reading by title and do now pass.
